Amber's Reiki Journey

✧How did you first discover Reiki, and what inspired you to begin training?

Reiki grew naturally out of my work as a massage therapist. After years of helping people with physical pain, I began noticing the emotional and energetic pieces they carried, too. I wanted to offer my clients a way to feel supported beyond bodywork, and Reiki gave me a way to explore that.

What began as curiosity quickly felt natural. As I experienced Reiki for myself, I knew I wanted to make it a bigger part of my life and my practice. When I found Laura Ramirez, I had an immediate sense that she was the right teacher for me. I felt comfortable and supported throughout my training—and that gave me the confidence to keep going.

✧ How has Reiki supported or transformed your life?

Reiki has taught me to slow down, trust my intuition, and pay attention to what I’m feeling instead of always pushing through. It has deepened my spiritual practice and helped me understand myself in new ways.

It has also changed how I see my work. After 18 years as a massage therapist, I’m beginning to shift toward Reiki and energy work. I can still support people in a meaningful way while allowing my career to grow beyond the physical demands of massage. It feels like a natural next chapter for everything I’ve learned.

✧What can someone expect from a Reiki session with you?

You can come exactly as you are. You don’t need to know anything about energy work—or even be sure you believe in it. During a session, you’ll remain fully clothed and comfortable while I offer Reiki, creating space for you to slow down and reconnect with yourself.

People experience sessions differently. You might notice warmth, tingling, emotion, or deep relaxation, or you might not feel much physically at all. Afterward, we can talk about your experience and anything I noticed. My hope is that you leave feeling grounded, supported, and more connected to yourself.

✧Who do you work with in your Reiki practice, and how can others partner with you?

I work with people who feel stressed, overwhelmed, or disconnected, as well as anyone who simply needs time and space for themselves. I especially love welcoming people who are curious about energy healing but aren’t sure what they believe about Reiki yet. You don’t need any prior experience to come to a session.

✧ Is there anything else you'd like to share about your practice?

More than anything, I want people to know that you don’t have to be “spiritual” to receive Reiki. You don’t need to understand energy, know about chakras, or believe anything in particular. You can simply show up as you are.

My practice brings together nearly two decades of hands-on bodywork with the intuitive, energetic work I feel called to do now. Whether you come for a Reiki session in person or remotely, my hope is to offer a welcoming space where you can slow down, feel supported, and reconnect with yourself.
